Key Colony, Coastal municipality in Florida Keys, United States.
Key Colony is a small municipality in the Florida Keys spread across two main islands and connected by causeway to nearby Marathon. The settlement includes facilities for tennis and golf, along with several harbors where boats dock and fishing trips depart.
The islands were transformed in the 1950s through dredging work that raised the land level. These changes enabled the settlement and development of the area as it exists today.
The municipality maintains tennis courts, a nine-hole golf course, and multiple marinas that support fishing and water sports activities.
Visitors reach the location via the Overseas Highway, which is easily accessible by car. The best time to visit is during the drier months when weather is most stable.
The location sits between two oceans - the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean - offering quick access to coral reefs. Divers and anglers take advantage of this unique position to move easily between both waters.
