The establishment at 626 South Miami Avenue operated continuously from 1912 to 2014, holding Miami's first liquor license in the Brickell district.
During the 1920s Prohibition era, the location functioned as a bakery while maintaining a hidden room behind a bookshelf for storing illegal alcohol.
The venue transformed from a simple bar into a central location for blues and jazz performances, drawing both local musicians and national artists.
The building closed permanently in October 2014 after the property sold for 12.5 million dollars, with 4,000 people attending the final night.
Norwegian Cruise Line incorporated a tribute version of Tobacco Road on their Norwegian Escape vessel, designed as a premium cigar lounge.
