Skyvue, Unfinished observation wheel project on Las Vegas Strip, United States.
Skyvue was a planned observation wheel standing 500 feet tall that would have been built near Mandalay Bay Hotel. The project also included a shopping district designed to feature replicas of famous British landmarks.
The idea started in 2011 when local authorities approved the project and a groundbreaking ceremony took place. Construction was never completed and the project was eventually abandoned.
The project was part of the trend to expand Las Vegas with fresh attractions for visitors. Like many other places on the Strip, it was meant to offer an experience found nowhere else.
You can view the two concrete pillars from outside since they sit on the Strip and are easy to spot. The site is not open to walk through, but the structures are visible from a distance.
One planned feature was a massive LED screen that would have been visible from across the entire Strip. This would have been one of the world's largest outdoor advertising displays of its time.
