Dolby Live, Entertainment venue at Park MGM, Las Vegas, US
Dolby Live is an indoor amphitheater at the Park MGM in Paradise, Nevada, with a cream-colored facade bearing the sign "PARK THEATER" and a tall glass curtain wall reflecting the street. Inside, the 150,000-square-foot venue has a 135-by-40-foot stage, a 7,500-square-foot proscenium arch, and an 80-by-40-foot 4K LED screen.
Announced in July 2015 as part of the redevelopment of the Monte Carlo Resort and Casino, the venue was built on the site of the former Lance Burton Theatre. Construction began on November 2, 2015, and the $90 million theater opened on December 17, 2016, with a concert by Stevie Nicks. In October 2021, a naming rights agreement with Dolby renamed it Dolby Live and upgraded its sound system to Dolby Atmos.
The venue's name changed from Park Theater to Dolby Live in October 2021 under a naming-rights deal with Dolby. Its opening show on December 17, 2016, was a concert by Stevie Nicks, and the room has since been built around concert and residency runs rather than touring one-nighters.
The venue covers 150,000 square feet, with a 135-by-40-foot stage and a 7,500-square-foot proscenium arch. The design places the back row 145 feet from the stage, and an 80-by-40-foot 4K-LED screen serves the rear seats. It sits next to T-Mobile Arena and Paramount+ Plaza on the Park MGM grounds.
The back row of seats sits just 145 feet from the stage, a distance fixed by the design of the 150,000-square-foot venue. The room also holds an 80-by-40-foot 4K LED screen, and since October 2021 its sound system has used Dolby Atmos, the first performance venue to do so.
