Tropicana – Las Vegas Boulevard intersection

The Tropicana–Las Vegas Boulevard intersection is a multi-level pedestrian bridge structure connecting the four corners of a busy street crossing. The facility allows thousands of visitors daily to walk between MGM Grand, New York-New York, and Excalibur Hotel without crossing the street.

This crossing was completely redesigned in 1993 with the construction of four elevated pedestrian bridges, eliminating ground-level passage. The upgrade was part of a broader initiative to improve safety and traffic flow in this heavily used part of the city.

At this crossing, pedestrians encounter the bright lights and signage of major hotels, where the energy and movement of the city is tangible. The bridges connect visitors between different entertainment worlds and allow them to experience the pulse of Las Vegas without detours.

The bridges are easily accessible to pedestrians and connect all four corners without significant elevation changes between levels. The above-ground paths allow visitors to navigate quickly and safely between hotels at any time of day.

Following the demolition of the Tropicana Resort in 2024, the area will undergo a major transformation with plans for a baseball stadium for the Oakland Athletics. This change will fundamentally alter the spatial structure and use of the area, even as the existing bridges remain in place.
