The MGM Grand is a hotel and casino on the Las Vegas Strip in Clark County, ranking among the city's largest complexes. The property features a 30-story tower with green exterior elements housing a total of 6852 rooms.
The complex opened on December 18, 1993, introducing a new generation of large-scale hotel construction focused on capacity and entertainment offerings. Since then, the property has undergone multiple expansions and renovations to meet the changing demands of visitors.
The name comes from the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer studio, whose roaring lion is its trademark; Kirk Kerkorian held a majority stake in both the film company and the casino operator. The entrance once took the form of a faceted yellow concrete lion, later replaced by a bronze lion surrounded by Art Deco statues of men carrying bowls on their shoulders. The MGM Grand appears in Ocean's Eleven, and on May 5, 2007, its Grand Garden hosted the Óscar de la Hoya versus Floyd Mayweather Jr. fight.

The casino floor covers 171,500 sq ft (15,930 m2), with more than 2,500 slot machines and 139 poker and table games. The entrance once took visitors through the mouth of a prismatic yellow concrete lion; a bronze lion now stands there, surrounded by Art Deco statues of men carrying bowls on their shoulders.
