Allegiant Stadium, Sports stadium in Paradise, United States
Allegiant Stadium is a sports arena in Paradise, Nevada that hosts American football matches and concerts. The facility includes a translucent roof and a movable natural grass field that travels on rails, with seating for 65,000 spectators.
The arena opened in July 2020 as the new home of the Las Vegas Raiders following their relocation from Oakland. Construction began in 2017 on a site near the Strip that was previously occupied by a parking lot.
Fans wear silver and black on game days and fill the stands with team chants and drum beats that echo through the bowl. The crowd celebrates touchdowns with synchronized clapping and the Raider salute, a raised fist that honors the team's identity.
Visitors reach the venue through several entrances around the structure and find wide concourses for movement on game days. Rideshare drop-off zones sit on the north side, while parking areas are within walking distance from the Strip.
The playing surface weighs around 9,500 tons (8,600 metric tons) and rides on 76 rails through an opening in the outer wall toward sunlight. The grass grows outdoors on a field next to the building and only comes inside when a game or concert takes place.
