Las Ramblas Resort, Unfinished resort development in Paradise, Nevada.
Las Ramblas Resort was a planned complex in Paradise, Nevada, designed to span 25 acres along Harmon Avenue with 11 towers housing 4,400 residential units and 300 hotel rooms. The development combined living spaces with lodging and was structured as an integrated mixed-use area.
The project was announced in 2005 as a 2 billion dollar venture involving Centra Properties and The Related Companies. Attention grew when actor George Clooney invested 10 million dollars, though construction halted in 2006 when rising costs made completion unfeasible.
The resort was meant to draw inspiration from Barcelona's pedestrian zones, with plans for retail shops, nightclubs, and entertainment spots that would blend local character with Las Vegas glamour. Visitors would have found spaces designed to mix shopping and nightlife in a single walkable area.
The site sits on flat ground along a major street in the eastern Las Vegas valley and is easy to reach from the city. The location is accessible, though there are limited facilities currently available since the project remains incomplete.
After the project halted, the property sold in 2007 for 202 million dollars to Edge Resorts Group. Clooney pledged to donate his proceeds from the sale to African debt relief causes.
