BMW Masters

BMW Masters was a golf tournament played on the par-72 course at Lake Malaren Golf Club in northern Shanghai, stretching approximately 7,600 yards across rolling terrain. The event attracted around 78 professional golfers each year who competed for substantial prize money.

The tournament began in 2011 as Lake Malaren Shanghai Masters and joined the European Tour in 2012. It continued as a fixture on the professional circuit until its final edition took place in 2015.

The tournament drew professional players from both European Tour and Asian Tour, representing a connection between Western and Eastern golf competitions.

The course demands solid preparation due to its length and strategic layout that challenges players at every hole. Spectators planning to attend should time their visits during November when weather conditions are favorable and the competition reaches peak intensity.

Peter Hanson holds the tournament record with a remarkable score of 267, finishing 21 strokes under par in 2012. This exceptional performance remains one of the finest displays ever achieved on this course.
