Hollabrunn District

Hollabrunn District encompasses 1,010 square kilometers of land with 24 municipalities, including towns such as Retz, Maissau, and Göllersdorf at 275 meters elevation.

The district establishment occurred in 1868 during Austria's administrative restructuring, creating a systematic governance framework for the region's communities and territories.

The district contains numerous wine-producing regions where local vintners maintain traditional cultivation methods and operate cellars throughout the municipalities.

The territory encompasses the archaeological site at Roseldorf, which reveals remains of a major La Tène culture settlement from 300 BCE.
