Kumargaon is an urban district in Sylhet in northeastern Bangladesh. The area contains residential neighborhoods, industrial facilities, and several educational institutions that together form a mixed urban zone.
The area grew from the 1960s onward as a modern center with the development of power infrastructure. These early beginnings with energy generation shaped the industrial character of the district.
