Tong'an District

Tong'an District is an administrative region north of central Xiamen that covers a substantial area with eleven subdivisions. The district contains mixed urban neighborhoods and residential communities organized across different zones.

The region received official status as a county in the 10th century and was later integrated into Xiamen's administration. This transition shaped the structure you see today.

The area maintains local temples and traditional festivals that reflect the community's own identity. These customs remain woven into daily life and celebrations throughout the district.

The district has regular bus service connecting different neighborhoods and direct routes from the airport to various parts of the area. Getting around by bus is the most common way for visitors to explore the region.

A film and television studio located here serves as a production site where movie scenes and shows are filmed with recreated landmarks. The studio creates an unusual blend of working production space and visitor-curious location.
