Zhuzilin Depot, Rail depot in Futian District, Shenzhen, China
Zhuzilin Depot is a rail maintenance facility located south of Shennan Boulevard and east of Qiaochengdong Road, serving the trains on Shenzhen Metro Line 1. The facility functions as the operations control center for both Line 1 and Line 2 with direct track connections to Zhuzilin Station.
Zhuzilin Depot opened in 2004 alongside Shenzhen Metro Line 1, marking the start of a new era in the city's transportation development. This early infrastructure was foundational to building the rapidly growing public transit network.
The name Zhuzilin comes from Chinese and means Bamboo Forest, reflecting how local geographic features traditionally influence infrastructure naming.
The facility is easily accessible via Zhuzilin Station and offers direct entry to operational areas. Visitors can observe the modern maintenance operations and rail activity from designated viewing zones.
The depot operates with three parallel tracks that allow multiple trains to undergo maintenance simultaneously without disrupting service. This design enables efficient operations and keeps repairs running continuously.
