Hongfo Pagoda, Buddhist pagoda in Helan County, China.
The octagonal brick pagoda rises 35 meters high with a Tibetan-style upper section and three-story lower section near Yinchuan city in Ningxia.
Built during the Western Xia period between 1038 and 1227, the pagoda underwent complete reconstruction in 1989 due to severe structural deterioration.
The pagoda contains over 2000 wooden printing blocks with Tangut characters, providing insights into Buddhist literature and monastic practices of medieval China.
Visitors need to travel more than one hour from Yinchuan to reach this national cultural heritage site in a rural area of Helan County.
During renovation works in 1990, workers discovered painted earthenware statues, wooden figures, silk paintings, and bronze coins from the Northern Song dynasty.
