Najiahu mosque

Najiahu Mosque combines Arabic architectural elements with Han and Tang Dynasty styles across its 10,000 square meter complex with four minarets reaching 72.4 meters.

The mosque dates back over 600 years to its initial construction in 1370 and maintains its status as the oldest Islamic structure in Ningxia.

The interior features wooden floors covered with 500 Islamic rugs, while a ten-meter-high carving displays Quran verses across its twenty-two-meter width.

The religious center accommodates 3,000 worshippers on the second floor and 800 in the traditional section designated for women.

In 2019, authorities designated sections of the mosque as protected cultural relics, recognizing its role in preserving Chinese Islamic heritage.
