The Qitai Radio Telescope is an observation facility with a 110-meter diameter parabolic dish that is fully steerable and located at 1,800 meters elevation. The equipment can receive frequencies from 150 MHz to 115 GHz, allowing observations of pulsars, star formation, and large-scale radio structures.
Construction of this facility began in September 2022, marking a major step forward in China's astronomical research capabilities. Upon completion in 2028, it will become the world's largest fully steerable single-dish radio telescope.
