Wuxue Yangtze River Bridge, Cable-stayed road bridge in Wuxue, China.
The Wuxue Yangtze River Bridge is a cable-stayed structure spanning 2,051.5 meters across the river with a main span of 808 meters. The crossing features two towers with distinct shapes that support the deck above the water.
Construction began in December 2016 and finished in September 2021, replacing the ferry that previously connected the two areas. The completed road has transformed how people travel between Wuxue and Yangxin County.
The bridge displays modern Chinese engineering through its contrasting tower designs that shape how travelers experience crossing the river. This deliberate asymmetry has become a visual symbol of the region's development and connection.
The bridge carries vehicle traffic and allows quick crossings between the two riverbanks at high speed. Visitors can view the structure from the riverbanks or while traveling across during normal traffic.
The north tower rises to 267.422 meters in a diamond shape, while the south tower reaches 233.602 meters with an A-shaped profile. The mismatched designs create an unusual visual characteristic that distinguishes this crossing.
