Yanshuiting

Yanshuiting is a historic pavilion standing beside Gantang Lake, featuring traditional Chinese architecture with curved roofs and wooden columns. The structure rises in multiple tiers and overlooks water on both sides, creating views across the lake.

The pavilion dates back to imperial China and served as a gathering place for scholars and officials during Jiujiang's dynastic periods. Its architectural style preserves building traditions from the era in which it was constructed.

The structure reflects classical Chinese garden design principles, integrating architecture with water to create spaces for reflection. Visitors can experience how such places were meant to connect people with nature and provide moments of quietness.

The pavilion lies centrally in Jiujiang and is easily reached by regular bus services that stop within walking distance. Early morning or late afternoon visits work best when sunlight falls lower on the water and crowds are lighter.

The original wood of the supporting columns shows age marks and has remained largely unchanged over centuries, demonstrating continuous use of the site. This material continuity allows visitors to see the actual craftsmanship from the historical period.
