花径, Historical garden path in Mount Lushan, China
The Flower Path is a walking route on Mount Lushan in Jiangxi Province that runs through forested slopes and past historical structures. The trail winds through the mountainous terrain, connecting different parts of the scenic area with natural stone steps and cleared passages.
A Tang Dynasty poet visited this mountain location in the early 9. century and wrote verses about the flowers growing there. The site developed into a documented place of literary importance throughout subsequent centuries.
The path carries strong links to Tang Dynasty poet Bai Juyi, whose writings celebrated the flowers blooming here. Visitors walk through a place that shaped literary inspiration and remains connected to classical Chinese poetry traditions.
The trail is open year-round and suitable for casual walkers, though it can be steep in some sections. Comfortable footwear and weather-appropriate clothing are recommended for a pleasant experience.
A large reservoir was added to the area decades later, creating new water features while maintaining the path's original character. The water adds a different dimension to what visitors experience when walking the historic route today.
