Donglin Temple

The Donglin Temple spans across 120,000 square meters at the northwestern foot of Mount Lushan, featuring multiple halls and a 48-meter-tall Amitabha Buddha statue.

Founded in 384 CE by monk Huiyuan during the Eastern Jin Dynasty, the temple became a center for Pure Land Buddhism and established the White Lotus Society.

The temple maintains the tradition of communal vegetarian meals where visitors and monks gather together, following specific dining protocols and scriptural recitations.

Visitors can reach the temple by taking multiple bus routes to Shilidalou station, followed by a connecting bus, with Lushan Station located 13 kilometers away.

The temple features an 80-meter-tall flame sculpture surrounding the main Buddha statue, creating a monumental centerpiece within the religious complex.
