Nengren Temple

Nengren Temple stands on a central axis with the Shanmen gate, Shuangyang Bridge, Mahavira Hall, Iron Buddha Hall, and Buddhist Texts Library forming its layout.

Initially constructed between 502 and 549 as Chengtian Temple, the site underwent multiple reconstructions before receiving its current name in 1498 during the Ming Dynasty.

The Mahavira Hall contains a central statue of Sakyamuni Buddha, with Kassapa and Ananda statues on each side and Eighteen Arhats along the walls.

The temple received recognition as a National Key Buddhist Temple in 1983 and continues to function as an active religious center in Jiangxi Province.

A historical stone boat measuring five meters in length and one meter in width, created in 1406, previously contained an iron Buddha statue within the temple grounds.
