Olsberg

Olsberg is a health resort in the Hochsauerlandkreis region, spread across forested slopes where the Ruhr River flows through gentle valleys. The landscape features scattered hamlets nestled among wooded hills that create a green, rolling terrain.

The municipality was established in 1975 when several communities from different districts merged to create a new administrative unit. This merger brought together the twelve villages that today form a spa town focused on health and wellness.

The twelve villages maintain local traditions through festivals where residents and visitors gather to taste regional food and see traditional crafts on display. These events happen year-round across the four valleys and show how the community keeps its customs alive.
