Jangaon district, Administrative district in central Telangana, India
Jangaon district extends across 2,027 square kilometers of land with a population density of 260 inhabitants per square kilometer according to census records.
The district emerged through the reorganization of Warangal district on October 11, 2016, marking a new chapter in Telangana's administrative structure.
The Telugu language dominates the region with 86 percent of residents speaking it, while Lambadi and Urdu maintain their presence in local communities.
The district connects to major urban centers through National Highway 163 and contains two revenue divisions: Jangaon and Ghanpur, comprising twelve mandals.
Telugu poet Bammera Pothana, born in 1450 AD in the village of Bammera, represents the district's connection to classical Telugu literature.
