Pyramid of Pepi II, Egyptian pyramid in South Saqqara, Egypt

The limestone pyramid features a square base of 79 meters and rises to a height of 43 meters with perfectly aligned smooth sides.

Built during the Sixth Dynasty for Pharaoh Pepi II, who ruled Egypt for 94 years, this structure marked the final pyramid complex of Ancient Egypt.

The burial chamber walls contain carved pyramid texts that guide the pharaoh through the afterlife, following Egyptian religious traditions.

Visitors can reach the pyramid by traveling three miles south of the Step Pyramid of Djoser through the Saqqara archaeological zone.

The mortuary temple includes a hall with eighteen pillars, where one remaining column shows Pepi II embracing the sun god Re-Harakhty.
