Nuestra Señora de la Asunción, Juli

Nuestra Señora de la Asunción is a Baroque church with carved wooden doors and a large collection of religious paintings throughout its interior. The building has a Latin cross floor plan and defines the center of the village.

Construction took place between 1568 and 1620 during a period of major Catholic expansion in the southern Andes. The project was part of a larger effort to establish Christian worship in this mountain region.
