Iglesia de Jesús de Machaca

The church exhibits ornate decorations, dynamic architectural forms, and a prominent altar that represents colonial religious architecture in the Andes region.

The construction of the church concluded in 1706, with the tower added in 1754 and the atrium completed in 1778 under cacique José Fernández Guarachi.

The presbytery contains large paintings depicting the Triumph of the Immaculate and the Triumph of the Eucharist, signed by Juan Ramos in 1706.

The church maintains its status as a national monument of Bolivia since December 7, 1967, through Supreme Decree No. 8171.

Construction records indicate the church cost 193,620 pesos, with craftsmen from Cuzco, Huarina, Achacachi, and Chucuito contributing to its creation.
