The Royal Tombs of Sipan Museum

The Royal Tombs of Sipan Museum exhibits gold artifacts, jewelry, and ceremonial objects discovered in the Moche civilization burial sites of northern Peru.

The museum, inaugurated in 2002, preserves the archaeological findings from 1987 when researchers uncovered the tomb of a Moche ruler at Huaca Rajada.

The building's architecture replicates ancient Moche temples with five prisms representing the standards found in the Lord of Sipan's tomb.

Located ten minutes north of Chiclayo, the museum welcomes visitors daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM with exhibits spanning multiple floors.

The museum structure resembles a truncated pyramid with sloped planes, finished in red and yellow to mirror the traditional Moche color palette.
