Bosques Nublados de Udima Wildlife Refuge

Bosques Nublados de Udima is a protected cloud forest refuge in the Andes mountains. The area covers 12,183 hectares across two regions and sits at elevations between 2,000 and 3,000 meters (6,500 and 10,000 feet), where thick mist clings to dense vegetation year-round.

Peru's government first designated this area as a protected zone in 2010, then formally established it as a national refuge in 2011. This dual recognition reflected growing awareness of the forest's ecological value.
