Pyramid of the Magician

The oval-based pyramid rises 27.6 meters above the ground and features five layered temples built during different construction periods.

The structure, built between the 6th and 10th centuries, served as a central religious monument in the pre-Hispanic settlement of Uxmal.

The pyramid's design incorporates numerous stone masks of Chaac, the rain deity, reflecting the Mayan beliefs and architectural style of the Puuc region.

Visitors need to climb 150 steep steps to reach the uppermost temple, with each step measuring more than 30 centimeters in height.

The structure contains a hidden temple entrance facing west, aligning with the sunset during the summer solstice.
