Grizzly Peak Airfield

Grizzly Peak Airfield is a themed area within Disney California Adventure Park in Anaheim that blends mountain forest environments with aviation heritage. Wooden buildings, rocky outcrops, and flight-related details create the landscape throughout the space.

The area transformed from Condor Flats to Grizzly Peak Airfield in 2015, shifting from desert aviation themes to California mountain environments. This redesign moved the concept from a test pilot facility to a working mountain airfield.

The area draws from 1950s National Parks architecture, with ranger stations and granite formations creating a mountain valley feel. Visitors walk among pine trees and rocky outcrops that evoke California's high country.

The area features uneven ground and slopes that mimic mountain terrain, so sturdy shoes are helpful for walking. Multiple pathways connect different sections, allowing visitors to explore at their own pace without feeling rushed.

The ground layout no longer displays runway stripes but instead shows an apron pattern that marks an aircraft service area. This ground design change subtly reinforces the shift from a test pilot facility to a working airfield operation.
