Calico River Rapids

Calico River Rapids is a whitewater rafting ride where round boats navigate through rushing water, sudden drops, and winding channels filled with scenery. Passengers encounter character figures and animal representations positioned throughout the route to tell a story of frontier exploration.

The ride debuted in 1988 with a different concept and name. A major renovation in 2019 transformed it to fit with the western-themed area of the park and created its current storyline.

The ride tells a story of early settlers discovering the river territory through encounters with character figures positioned along the water route. These scenes show how people imagined frontier life and adventure in remote areas.

Visitors should expect to get wet since the boat goes through waterfalls and rough water that splashes over the sides during the journey. Height restrictions apply to this ride and are checked before boarding.

During the ride, visitors encounter a mysterious creature known as the Skunk Ape, presented as an unknown animal hiding in the area. This figure was added during the 2019 update to give passengers an extra moment of surprise.
