Space 220 Restaurant, Space dining experience at Epcot, US
Space 220 Restaurant is a themed dining venue inside Epcot park in Bay Lake that takes guests into a simulated space station setting. The floor-to-ceiling windows display continuous digital views of Earth, passing satellites, and other details of space throughout the meal.
The restaurant opened its doors in 2021 as part of the expansion of Epcot park's World Discovery area. The facility replaced an earlier use of the space and introduced the concept of a spaceflight simulation experience to the park's dining landscape.
The restaurant takes its name from the altitude of the space station, which sits around 220 miles above Earth and mimics the orbital height of many real stations. The menu uses spaceflight terminology for its dishes, while staff appear in uniforms that resemble crew members on a space mission.
Visitors should make reservations well in advance, as seating fills quickly due to limited capacity and popularity of the concept. The menu offers fixed-price options with American cuisine, and guests typically spend around 90 minutes at the restaurant.
The simulated windows update during the meal and show different phases of Earth rotation and varying satellite movements, so no two visits are alike. The elevator experience upon entry includes a recreated launch sequence with visual effects representing the ascent into orbit.
