The ride opened in November 2004, replacing ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter, and operated continuously until transitioning to seasonal operations in fall 2016.
Disney Animation artists who worked on the original Lilo & Stitch film contributed to creating character animations for this immersive experience.
The attraction requires guests to be at least 40 inches tall and includes sensory effects such as water sprays, temperature changes, and motion effects.
Two plasma cannons weighing over 1,600 pounds each track Stitch's DNA throughout the experience, incorporating technology from the original film design.
