Chengdu Zoo

The zoo spans 17 hectares and houses over 3,000 animals from 300 species, including giant pandas, South China tigers, and clouded leopards.

Founded in 1953, Chengdu Zoo relocated to its current location in 1976 and has contributed to wildlife conservation through breeding programs.

The thirty animal houses incorporate regional architectural elements while maintaining functional spaces for the animals and educational displays.

Visitors can access the zoo via Metro Line 3 or multiple bus routes, with entrance fees of CNY 20 and free admission for children under 1.3 meters.

The zoo has successfully bred 58 giant pandas, including 17 sets of twins, establishing itself as a center for panda conservation research.
