Chengdu Zoo

Chengdu Zoo is a wildlife facility in Chenghua that spreads across a large grounds and houses diverse animal species, including Asian species such as giant pandas, South China tigers, and clouded leopards. The grounds contain multiple enclosure sections with pathways and rest areas in between.

The zoo was founded in 1953 and relocated to its current location in 1976. Since opening, it has been a place where researchers and caretakers observe and study various animal species.

The layout blends modern structures with regional design elements that fit naturally into the surroundings. Visitor pathways are arranged to allow observation of animals while displaying information about them.

The grounds are easy to reach by public transport, as multiple lines provide direct access. Visiting requires walking at a leisurely pace, with many paths to explore.

The facility is known worldwide for successful breeding programs with a large number of pandas born there. Visitors can witness special moments during feeding times and activities in the panda areas.
