Bridge Creek Wilderness, Protected wilderness in Ochoco Mountains, Oregon
Bridge Creek Wilderness is a protected area in the Ochoco Mountains featuring steep terrain with forested slopes and open meadows spread across roughly 5,400 acres. The creek itself divides the landscape into two distinct plateaus, creating varied terrain for visitors to explore.
Congress designated this section of Ochoco National Forest as a wilderness area in 1984, protecting its natural character for future generations. A major wildfire in 2008 significantly altered the landscape, though the ecosystem continues to recover over time.
