China Gate Castle Park, Historical park near Ming Dynasty Gate, Nanjing, China

China Gate Castle Park is a tree-lined riverside park in Nanjing, north of the Qinhai River and south of the city wall, near Changgan Bridge. Visitors enter through the China Gate, and the park is one of the five parks the city has named among its top five, alongside Mochou Lake Park, Qingliangshan Park, Wuchaomen Park and Xuanwu Lake.

Zhonghua Gate was built during the Ming Dynasty as a key defensive structure protecting Nanjing from invaders and external threats. The park later developed around this fortification, combining the old military architecture with modern green space for residents.

The park takes its name from the China Gate, the Ming-era gate in the city wall through which visitors enter the riverside grounds. Nanjing lists it among its top five parks, alongside Mochou Lake, Qingliangshan, Wuchaomen and Xuanwu Lake parks.

The park has multiple entry points, with the main entrance near Changgan Bridge, easily accessible on foot from nearby streets. Most pathways are flat and well-maintained, making it comfortable to walk around for visitors of all abilities.

Nanjing's city government lists China Gate Castle Park among its top five parks, alongside Mochou Lake, Qingliangshan, Wuchaomen and Xuanwu Lake. The park lies between the Qinhai River and the Nanjing City Wall, and entry is through the China Gate itself.
