Punta Lourde Rocheblave, Mountain summit between Benasque, Spain and Hautes-Pyrénées, France
Punta Lourde Rocheblave is a mountain summit in the Pyrenees that rises to about 3,100 meters and forms the border between Spain and France. The peak sits within the Perdiguero massif and can be approached from both the Spanish and French sides.
This peak has long served as a natural border marker between Spain and France in the Pyrenees. The location has functioned as a geographic reference point for the frontier between the two nations for centuries.
Local mountaineers from both Spanish and French communities gather annually at the summit to celebrate their shared mountain heritage through traditional songs.
You can reach this summit from either Spain via Benasque or from France via Luchon. Climbers will find multiple routes available depending on which side of the border they approach from.
The mountain holds three different names across regional languages: Tuca de Puixebres in Aranese, Lourde Rocheblave Tontorra in Basque, and Punta Lourde Rocheblave in Spanish.
