Gurugram district is an administrative area in northern Haryana that includes large commercial zones, residential blocks, and wide parks. It extends south of Delhi and connects urban neighborhoods with rural settlements along several main roads.
The district was formed in 1979 from parts of the old Gurgaon territory and received its current name in 2016. Its growth accelerated during the 1990s when international firms opened offices there.
