Shadnagar is a historic town located in Mahabubnagar district, roughly 55 kilometers south of Hyderabad in southern India. The settlement functions as a municipal center with local administrative buildings, residences, and community facilities serving the surrounding region.
The town was established between 1869 and 1911 under the rule of the sixth Nizam Mahboob Ali Khan. Its name comes from the pen name of Maharaja Krishnan Prasad, who was known as Shad.
