The Halve Maen reaches a height of 20.5 meters and swings up to 24 meters, reaching speeds of 54 kilometers per hour during operation.
Swiss manufacturer Intamin constructed this attraction, which opened on April 12, 1982, as part of Efteling's initiative to attract younger visitors.
The ride replicates a Dutch East India Company merchant vessel, incorporating maritime heritage into the entertainment experience at Efteling theme park.
The attraction accommodates 84 passengers per cycle and requires riders to measure at least 120 centimeters in height for safety reasons.
Upon its opening, the Guinness Book of Records recognized Halve Maen as the largest pirate ship ride globally until March 1985.
