Johnson's Island Confederate Cemetery, Military cemetery in Ottawa County, US

The 1.2-acre cemetery contains 153 known and 52 unknown graves of Confederate officers, marked with simple stone markers overlooking Sandusky Bay in Lake Erie.

From 1862 to 1865, the cemetery served as a burial ground for Confederate officers who died during their imprisonment at Johnson's Island prison camp.

The United Daughters of the Confederacy donated the land to the United States in 1931 and erected a commemorative statue at the site in 1910.

The cemetery grounds maintain regular visiting hours and include designated parking spaces, with volunteers available to assist in locating specific memorial markers.

Among the interred soldiers are 26 individuals who either held or later achieved the rank of general in the Confederate military forces.
