Museo Del Ferrocarril Mexicano Del Sur

The building features a restored late 19th-century train station structure with exhibition halls displaying railway artifacts and documentation from Mexican transportation history.

President Porfirio Díaz inaugurated the original train station on November 13, 1892, marking his final visit to his native state of Oaxaca.

The museum complex includes the Mexican Southern Railway Museum, Oaxaca Children's Museum, and BS Railway Library, preserving regional transportation heritage.

Located at Calzada Madero 511 in Oaxaca Centro, the museum opens Monday through Friday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Saturdays until 1:00 PM.

The restoration project received funding from the National Fund for Culture and Arts and the Alfredo Harp Helú Oaxaca Foundation to recover its original architecture.
