Museo Estatal de Arte Popular de Oaxaca

The museum displays an extensive collection of black pottery pieces, textiles, and traditional crafts from across the Oaxaca state in three dedicated halls.

The institution traces its origins to 1905 when initial efforts began to establish a cultural center, leading to the museum's official opening in 2004.

The permanent collection contains 120 selected works by 37 local artisans, focusing on barro negro pottery techniques specific to the San Bartolo Coyotepec region.

Located on the south side of San Bartolo Coyotepec's main plaza, the museum maintains regular exhibitions and provides direct contact with local artisans.

The museum features a cyber-museum platform that digitally displays numerous pieces that cannot fit in the physical exhibition space.
