Oaxaca México Temple

The Oaxaca Mexico Temple features white marble from Torreón and covers 10,700 square feet with a single spire design at Avenida Universidad.

The temple, announced in February 1999, opened its doors in March 2000 as the 74th operating temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Over 28,000 members from southern Mexico attend religious ceremonies in two ordinance rooms and two sealing rooms within the temple complex.

The temple provides free baptistry clothing but requires visitors to bring their own temple garments, which can be purchased at the distribution center.

The temple's construction fulfilled a 1949 prediction by President Arwel L. Pierce about the growth of the Mormon church in the Oaxaca region.
