America Sings, Musical theater attraction in Disneyland, United States
The circular Carousel Theater featured six identical auditoriums where animated animal figures performed American songs through rotating stages and changing settings.
From June 1974 to April 1988, America Sings replaced the General Electric Carousel of Progress, transforming the space into a celebration of American musical heritage.
Sam the Eagle and Ollie the Owl guided visitors through four musical acts representing different periods of American music, from Southern swamps to modern city streets.
The two-story building utilized only the lower floor for performances, with six theater sections moving simultaneously to present different segments of the show.
After closure, numerous Audio-Animatronic animals from America Sings found new roles in other attractions, including Splash Mountain and the Star Tours queue area.
