Peter Pan's Flight, Dark rail ride in Fantasyland, Magic Kingdom.
Peter Pan's Flight is a suspended dark ride in Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom, where passengers board hanging pirate ships that glide through lit recreations of London and Neverland. The ships pass miniature rooftops, starlit skies and lagoons populated by figures from the tale.
The ride opened in 1955 at Disneyland and was later replicated in other Disney parks around the world. A major renovation in 1983 introduced moving figures with improved mechanics into the scenes.
The depiction of Tiger Lily and her community was revised in 2022 to present more respectful portrayals. This change affects primarily the island scenes, where guests fly above forests and settlements.
The ride lasts just under three minutes and starts in a recreated nursery before guests glide through the window into the night sky. Wait times tend to grow during afternoon and evening hours, while mornings are generally quieter.
Black light and fiber optics create the impression of soaring above lit cityscapes, with Big Ben and the Thames visible below. In the nursery scene, building blocks spell out hidden messages reading Disney and P Pan.
