Davy Crockett's Explorer Canoes

Davy Crockett's Explorer Canoes is a paddling experience in Disneyland where guests sit in large fiberglass boats and explore the Rivers of America under the guidance of cast members positioned at the front and back. The ride takes groups through three different themed lands while staying in one location on the water.

The attraction first opened in 1956 as Indian War Canoes during the early expansion of Frontierland, and its name changed to the current one in 1971. This renaming aligned the experience with the park's direction and reflected changing perspectives on themed entertainment.

The experience connects visitors to American frontier life through the guides' period clothing and hats as groups paddle past rustic settler structures and landmarks.

Guests should expect to get wet since paddling is part of the active experience, and splashing is normal during the journey. Life jackets are provided to all participants, and safety briefings happen before boarding to prepare everyone for the water.
