Guilty Chinese Scholartree, Historical tree in Jingshan Park, Beijing, China.

The Zuihuai, a pagoda tree specimen situated in Jingshan Park, stands as a natural monument within the garden's elevated landscape near the Forbidden City.

In 1644, Emperor Chongzhen Zhu Youjian of the Ming dynasty ended his life at this location following Beijing's capture by rebel forces under Li Zicheng.

The tree represents a connection between imperial China's past and modern Beijing, drawing visitors interested in Chinese dynastic transitions and historical events.

The current specimen, planted in 1996, measures 150 years in age and maintains its position as a central point of interest within Jingshan Park's grounds.

Multiple trees have occupied this exact location through centuries, each replacement maintaining the historical significance of the original Ming dynasty specimen.
