Jiangdong Bridge

Jiangdong Bridge spans 284 meters across the Beixi waterway, connecting multiple areas through its stone arches and modern concrete sections. The structure forms part of the region's main road network and carries daily traffic.

The first bridge at this location was a floating structure built in 1190 during the Song Dynasty. It was later transformed into a wooden construction with stone piers in 1214, forming the foundation for the modern bridge.

This bridge belongs to a small group of notable stone bridges in Fujian Province and is regarded locally as an important architectural landmark. It is deeply rooted in the region's past and reflects the craftsmanship traditions of bridge building from earlier periods.

The bridge is easily accessible from the surrounding districts and offers clear views from multiple angles. Visitors can walk across and around the structure without restrictions to explore it freely.

The bridge suffered significant damage during the Second Sino-Japanese War when military forces deliberately destroyed it in 1938. Despite this destruction, it was restored and remains today an important symbol of the region's resilience.
