Oberspreewald-Lausitz District

Oberspreewald-Lausitz spans 1,216 square kilometers across southern Brandenburg, containing numerous municipalities along the banks of the Spree river with Senftenberg as its capital.

The district emerged in 1993 through the consolidation of Calau and Senftenberg districts, along with sections from Bad Liebenwerda, marking a significant administrative reorganization.
